Have an Awesome Autumn!

Even though summer still lingers here in Eastern Washington, Autumn is on my mind.  Here are a few awesome Autumn inspired pieces from some amazing artists…

Peacock Bullet Earrings are back!

I recently renewed my listing for my “Pretty Peacock Salvaged Bullet and Chain” earrings after they were featured in the Etsy finds last Friday.  They sold right away!  Now, I’m offering a chance to get your hands on these gorgeous earrings in case you missed the first opportunity.

I have a pair for myself that are a bit shorter and without the chain, and I get a ton of compliments on them!  They are stunning earrings!!

But hurry!  I have a limited number of peacock feathers left, and all feathers have increased in value since the last time I purchased them.  I don’t know how long I can keep them at this price!

Handmade, Eco-Friendly Gifts for Him

I often find it hard to come across great, unique, handmade gifts for men.  I find it even harder to come across great, unique, handmade gifts for men that are also eco-friendly…

So this year, for Father’s Day, I decided to make it my mission to find an original gift for the hubby that would not only be something that he would love, but also something that would show he loves the earth.  Oh, and if it was affordable?… Bonus points!!

In my quest, I can across an amazing seller, Mindy Humphrey of Mindy’s Beer Gear (aka MindysDesigns).  Mindy makes the wallets, purses, luggage tags and wrist cuffs from beer boxes.  Being that Jeff (my hubby) was in desperate need of a new wallet, I was beyond stoked when I found this awesome shop on Etsy.

Mindy’s wallets are recycled from used 6-pack beer boxes.  The outsides are covered in a clear vinyl and the inside are lined with a black or white vinyl.  This not only makes them durable (essential for men) but also waterproof (essential for beer-drinkers)!  Not only are they recycled and earth-friendly, but she does not use any leather so they are Vegan friendly as well.

I don’t know if my husband ever met a beer he didn’t like, but his favorite brew is Curve Ball Ale by the Pyramid Brewing Company.  It’s a seasonal beer, and luckily is available through the spring and summer (baseball season).  When I looked, Mindy didn’t have any Curveball items in her shop, but when I contacted her she told me that she happen to have a box there and could whip me up a wallet in no time.  I had the wallet in my sweet little hands in less than a week!

Jeppy's New Wallet

Jeff loves his new wallet and gets compliments on it all the time.  And now, I have some great ideas for the men in my life come Christmas time!  Thanks Mindy 🙂

Meet Karineh – an amazing fellow Etsian, an awesome “Tree Team” teammate and a wiz with a crochet hook!  Karineh’s Shop, JustColor, is popping with colors and textures in the forms of jewelry, hair accessories, scarves, shawls, bags and fingerless gloves.  Karinah describes her shop name JustColor as “a true representation of my personality and creations”… and she couldn’t be more accurate!

Here are a few of my favs….

SQUEEE!!! I love these!

Love the lavender stone with the ivory crochet.... Stunning!

So beautiful and unique!

These are just the tip of the iceberg, ladies and gentleman!  Karineh has over 150 items in her shop, all made beautifully by her.  Please stop my JustColor and show her some love!!

The “Beautiful Outlaw” Earrings

I just posted these gorgeous earrings last night.  Made from salvaged 9mm bullet casings, these earings make repurposing look GOOD!

"Beautiful Outlaw" Earrings

Plus, no only are the bullets “recycled”, but the pieces of chain are salvaged excess pieces from previous projects – too small to use… up until now!  Talk about Eco-Fabulous!!

I’m thinking that I may need to keep a pair of these beauties for myself.  And while I’m at it… I may just need some boots to go with!

One Proud Mama…

My 12 year old daughter, Angela, came to me about a year ago wanting to open her own Etsy shop.  She was making soaps and scrubs and wanted to do more than just a few Elementary School craft fairs with me every once in a while.

I initially told her no, because you HAD to be 18 to sell on Etsy… or at least that is what I thought.  Then one day I was reading an Etsy Blog article about a 16 year old that started her own shop with the assistance of her Mother.  You can read the article here:

After reading that, I told Angela about it and we began brainstorming ideas for her own Etsy Shop.  In just a few short weeks we opened Germaphobe Soaps, Scrubs, Sanitizers and Smellies.

Besides wonderful, rich goat’s milk soaps, she has also been making exfoliating sugar scrubs, hand sanitizers and assorted lip balms – all of which are available in the Germaphobe shop.

I am just so proud of my girl!  She is becoming quite the entrepreneur!!

PS.  Soon to come… a lemon & green tea sugar scrub that is 100% natural and amazing!
